Minister says Russia needs more ambitious privatization plan
WASHINGTON, Oct 21 (PRIME) -- Russia needs a more ambitious privatization program, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov said on October 19 on the sidelines of a meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank (WB).
“They asked us about interaction of the budget and monetary policies, asked about privatization, why we have so modest privatization plans. We need to make the privatization plan more ambitious, I agreed here,” Siluanov said.
“We have indeed become complacent because we need no money and all ministries have their stakes, albeit small, in the companies and everyone wants to control them. This is a clear issue,” he said.
